Lunch - 2010
The Old Boys week
at STC ended on a positive note last Sunday , with the renown Chapel
service .
The Old Boys
cricket match was won by the Present Boys X1 who were awarded the
prestigious Hon Dudley Senanayake Challenge Cup , presented by
Milinda Hettiarachchi in the year 2000 .
The lunch was
well attended by the Old Boy fraternity from all all age groups as
usual . Sam the Man - Nihal Samarasinghe kept all present in high
spirit with his jokes at lunch . Mr Ediriweera of the Centenary
Group thanked the Warden and wished him all success . Chaplain
Rebecca Maththew led the audience to prayer before lunch and thanked
the Lord thereafter .
The model rail
exhibition and the garden party at the quadrangle , reintroduced
after a long lapse was well patronised . The catering ,ambience and
the College bands in attendance and the Karate Show by the school
boys was well accepted at the party .
The Water Polo
game vs the Old Boys produced good fun . Peter Jasinghe stole the
limelight with his schoolboy antics .
There was a
distinct difference in the Old Boys AGM with a unique presentation .
The portrait of former Sub Warden Mr Pakianathan was formally opened
at the College Hall at the AGM by the Warden, in the
presence of Mr Pakianathan , who held fort in the interim period
prior to the arrival of Warden David Ponniah .
The OBA presented
the Warden with two cheques and a brand new audio visual system for
the College Hall . The Warden in his speech clearly outlined his
thoughts and vision for the school - " *pearls of wisdom from a
distinguished academic* " .
